Biography:
Born and raised in Guatemala in 1983, and an avid music fan from an early age, Oscar's first contact with real electronic dance music came in early 1999 when he got a hold of a copy of Paul Oakenfold's "Tranceport" compilation. He has been hooked ever since. Heavily influenced by DJs like Desyn Masiello, Rowan Blades, Danny Howells, Sasha, and John Digweed, Oscar decided to take advantage of the crescent digital DJing revolution and the availability of fresh, new dance music to learn the art of mixing records. His tastes have been constantly evolving over the years ranging from mellow, deep, sexy and melodic house to funk infested techno. An aspect that is evident in his sets. He is one of the driving forces behind the Spirit Soul Mix Archive, a website founded with the purpose of sharing mixes from a wide variety of DJs who play spirited, soulful, and forward-thinking house and techno music. It is through the increasing interest and recognition the archive has attained over the years by both music fans and world renowned DJs alike as a source for quality music, that the opportunity to have a monthly radio show alongside Spirit Soul collaborator Chris May arose. With a list of established DJs like Add2Basket and fresh new faces like Marcus Klay filling the show's guest spots, the show is on its way to become one of the hottest of the year. Spirit Soul Sessions airs every second Wednesday of the month on Pure.fm.
